Perfume

datingBozon:

Of all the indisputable man’s accessories the most mysterious is perfume, i.e. odor. By saying “mysterious” I mean that you can’t choose the articles of your image being guided by “like-dislike” method. First of all, the choice is wide and we usually like more than we need. Secondly, you need to work out your own style, which means that you can’t deviate from certain fashion laws and demands that might contradict your personal “likes-dislikes.” Thirdly, you are not the only one to “like it.” Your image and all its accessories should also please your future partners’ sight. So if you are going to buy a new shirt, belt, tie or watch various men’s magazines are at your service. They usually write something about fashion tendencies. That’s why you must know that the collar of the shirt should be bigger this year, the clasp on the belt is round and your jacket is striped in fine stripes...

As for perfume it remains a mystery. In the best case they will literally describe to you a new odor by the brand which advertising is placed in a couple of pages. Walking along the perfume salons and smelling every vial is a waste of time and efforts: you stop scenting anything at your third attempt. That’s why I’d really like to know, how am I supposed to choose a perfume (I’m going to chance the old one, I’m tired of it)? I refer my question to the respected audience. Please, share your experience or give some recommendations.

Here are my wishes:

  1. The odor should be fashionable.
  2. It should be pleasant not only to a man but to the majority of women as well.
  3. It should be available in perfume salons – all its types: sprays, deodorants and perfume itself.
  4. Fashion and style experts should guess at once that you are wearing the “right” perfume – just like they notice the right watch on your wrist at first sight.

Here is the right advice. I came to it with years.

Choose perfume by most prestigious Fashion Houses. Prices start from 100 dollars and more for 100 ml.

A typical example is “Hermes”. Aftershave lotion and perfume in one set for a 170 dollars.

Red Gremlin:

There is only one variant – you try the last five perfumes by the most famous Fashion Houses like Dior and choose between them.

As for me, I buy only perfume. I prefer moisturizing scentless aftershave lotion. If I want it I’d use my perfume above. Deodorant smell usually doesn’t feel so I also buy maximum scentless stuff. So when I don’t want to be smelled, I won’t be, if I do – I wear my perfume.

Buying the whole set Perfume/aftershave/deodorant is expensive. There are shower gels and other stuff... you are going to buy this too?

Maychild:

In my opinion, such scents as “Fahrenheit” or “Jungle” are a bit too suffocating and sugary for men. I prefer lighter but more masculine and stylish odors. Here are just a few which make an ineffaceable impression on me and arouse lots of emotions and impulsesJ:

1.     Lacoste (man) (a new one) – solid and erotic.

2.     Carolina Herrera (man) (I heard they don’t make it anymore) – almost classics, very decent

3.     Jil Sander (man) (bottle with parallax cylinders) – light, stylish and not sugary

4.     Pal Zileri (man) (from the producer of expensive Italian shirts and suits) – comparatively inexpensive and stylish (you can’t but like it!).

5.     Burberry (man) – classical, good.

These perfumes are for younger men and if you think you are mature and solid enough than you really have to refer to elite perfumery although it may seem quite specific from the start (Hermes, Greed and so on).
